I have created two photography websites and three non-photography websites that are based on Freewebs templates. I have found Freewebs to be great for a non-design individual like myself. I do not want to spend hours learning to build and design websites. Freewebs gives me templates an online content management system hosting and (limited) bandwidth for a very reasonable rate ($20/year). The uptime and service is very good and the functionality, though not perfect, does almost everything that I need it to do. It takes me about 1.5 days to create a Freewebs website and if I ever get tired of the layout and want to change the design, I push a button and get a new template and it looks completly different. The best part is that I manage it myself. If I want to change something, like upload new pics, etc, I can do it in a few minutes. If I hire a designer I will wait for them to do it and pay a fat fee to them for their efforts.
I often read that people look down on Freeweb websites and I really wonder why? Here are my two websites:
I would be interested in hearing others thoughts about Freewebs, also would be interested to know if anyone else uses their services or something similar (eg BlueVoda, etc)
