i just bought a Nikkon D300 and it came with Nikon 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S VR DX NIKKOR. i am learning to shoot using manual mode. i have set the camera to manual but the lens has a switch from Automatic to manual. i have made the switch to manual. However, since the lens does not have a focus ring. i dont know how to get a sharp focus of my subjects.
i have attached a picture of the nikkon lens under discussion.
Any suggestion please i need help
Thanks

The manual says that the focus ring is the front ring

Manual focus mode: Set the camera’s focus mode to AF (C/S) or M and set the lens’ A-M mode switch 9to M. Turn the focus ring 3 manually to focus.

you can download the manual for your lens from here - good luck
