    Sad Loss of Dennis Vogel

Dear All - i have some sad news one of our long time contributors Dennis J Vogel has sadly passed away from a stroke. He was a great contributor to the site, won many contests here and posted many encouraging words to other members. I am sure many of you will have interacted with Dennis and will miss his enthusiastic presence. I had many email conversations with him over the years and he was one of the good guys who helped make this site work.

His death was untimely as Dennis was only 62 and had many more clicks of the shutter left in him but he left a large collection of images which hopefully help his family remember him well.

Check out his gallery - on PG http://www.photography-gallery.com/g...500&ppuser=690 and also on myspace where there are more images a much bigger bio - http://www.myspace.com/conch_cameraman

My sympathies go to his family and friends and I am sure we are all sad to see his passing.

But if there is anything this tells us is that life is short & if you haven't gotten out there and soaked some of it up and taken a few shots just to remind you of how great it is then now is a good time!! - Tony

Thank you for this post. I had not heard anything in awhile from him and started a search to maybe find him on another forum. I will miss him because he inspired me to become a better photographer.

    great photographer

I never knew Dennis but I appreciated his work. He had an awesome eye and great skills. As I said, I never knew him personally, but I will will miss not seeing new work from him though I will enjoy looking back on what I've seen to date.
