So, my brother calls me up the other day, "What kinda camera should I buy"? I want to take good pictures". I informed him to go the drug store and buy one of those "throw away" cameras.
In my brothers confusion about my recommendations I went on to explain that it is really not about the camera but the person behind it. If you do not have a sense of composition, if you are not observant in light, there is no camera out there that is going to help you.
I have seen great images from phones, instamatics and yes, even throw away cameras.
Study the masters, enroll in photo sharing sights that give you real critique, join clubs. Buy a cheap camera, learn how to use it, know the ins and outs of that equipment. As time goes on you will discover what you need to accomplish your goal. Baby steps.
Does anyone agree with me?
