Taken with the Pentax W90R using Kodak Color DX 200. Dropping more than 220,000 litres of water over the cliff face per second! This is the most visited natural attraction in New Zealand. The water flow is controlled by "control gates" at the start of the Waikato River - The average daily flow over Huka Falls is 160 cubic metres per second. The height of the waterfall depends on the river flow and is from around 7 to 9.5 metres in height. Upstream the river, 100 metres wide and 4 metres deep is forced into a channel 15 metres wide and 10 metres deep.
